Genesis 29
This chapter tells us the story of how Jacob got Rachel to wife. But let’s focus our point of view to Leah. Jacob worked 7 years for Laban to get Rachel but Laban gave Leah first to fulfill their country’s culture to give the firstborn first. For this reason Leah was hated (v. 23) but God gave her comfort by opening her womb. I believe Leah believes and honors God that time. Just like Leah, when we are being hated God will always send comfort to us and will give us more value. Being hated doesn’t mean we treat ourselves with less value at all. Being hated is an opportunity to experience the grace of God in our lives. Remember this when people put you down, you don’t have to do anything because God will always lift you up.
